The laboratory's activities are dedicated to physics of the atmosphere and especially the study of aerosols, clouds, gases and their interactions with atmospheric radiation. The laboratory focuses for long time on theoretical aspects and on the control of radiative transfer in the atmosphere. More recently, activites have been expanded to dynamic modeling of the atmosphere. The laboratory also includes an experimental expertise with the development of new concepts and original instrumental realization. Finally its research activities rely on observation and remote sensing measurements acquired by ground-based, airborne, fixed on balloon or spaceborne instruments.
