Le labex CaPPA sponsored the 25th International Symposium on Gas Knetics and Related Phenomena organised in Lille from 22 to 26 July 2018 in the plenary hall of the regional government in downtown Lille. Organized every 2 years since 1967, Christa Fittschen, reseracher at PC2A lab, co-leader of the WP1 coordinated the organization this year.

Labratories PC2A, PhLAM, LPCA and SAGE have presented their results through talks and poster. Around 3 oral conferences and 13 posters have been presented and relates to the Labex CaPPA research activities. Find out the full list at the end of this page.

Internationally renowned in the field of gas phase kinetics, this symposium is at the heart of fields such as atmospheric chemistry, combustion and astrochemistry. 195 participants from 24 different countries gathered around 7 scientific sessions and 2 poster sessions.

The symposium closed with the awarding of the Polanyi Medal, the « Nobel Prize for Kinetics »: for the first time, a woman was honored, the Prof. Barbara Finlayson-Pitts from Irvine University, California.

HDQD 18

The labex CaPPA sponsored the international symposium High-Dimension Quantum Dynamics (HDQD) taking place in Villeneuve d’Ascq from 29 to 31 August 2018. Daniel Pelaez Ruiz, researcher in PhLAM laboratory coordinated the organization of the event, helped by the PCMT team.

Around 79 participants (~50% étudiant(e)s et postdocs) attended the event, coming from 20 countries (Canada, USA, China, Australia, Germany,…). 39 talks and 27 posters were presented.

The PCMT team from PhLAM laboratory presented 3 posters. Find out the full list at the end of this page.

HDQD aims at gathering scientists involved in the development and application of quantum dynamical methods for high dimensional systems (wave packet, path integral, Bohmian,…) to discuss the state-of-the-art and the future challenges of the field. Topics include molecular spectroscopy, reaction dynamics, surface scattering, chemical control, ultrafast processes, electron dynamics, and the physics of Bose-Einstein condensates.

ICA2018

11th International Congress on Aerobiology
3 – 7 September 2018, Parma, Italy
http://www.ica2018.eu/

The conference focuses on a multidisciplinary approach to study the advances in aerobiology for the preservation of human and environmental health.2 conferences : Jinane Farah, PhD student in PC2A lab, Marie Chöel researcher in LASIR, Nicolas Visez researcher in PC2A presented their last results through 2 oral presentation and 1 poster, related to WP2.

Antoine Roose, joint PhD sudent between SAGE and PhLAM laboratories, financed by the Labex CaPPA, presented his last results at the 677 Heraeus seminar in Bad Honnef on the molecular understanding of atmospheric aerosols. The annual conference took place from 26th August to 31st August at the Physikzentrum, Bad Honnef, in Germany.
Antoine Rosse’s talks was entitled « Experimental and theoretical investigation of HO2 sticking on dicarboxylic acid aerosols « .
